The Linden Wind Orchestra was founded in 1984 by Roger Phillips and very quickly became established as one of South East England's foremost wind ensembles. The principal objective of the Orchestra has always been to give high quality performances of an extensive repertoire of music in the form of public concerts and fundraising events for charities and societies. Tom Higgins was appointed musical director of the Linden Wind Orchestra in 2010.
